Outside Shower Question

Does anybody besides myself view the outside shower as the most worthless option ever put on an RV?

If you disagree, please share what you have used yours for.

My outdoor shower is a great location to store a replacement showerhead hose when the one inside fails. That is all I use it for.

We have a 2004. The zip tie has never been removed from the shower hose.

However the facet is handy to relieve water pressure when unhooking from city water.

I actually miss my outside shower, I've got the outdoor faucet so I'm thinking of building one I can break down and store.

Rinsing off after swimming, washing the dog, bathing al fresco when the situation allows.

They're useful, just need to be creative.

I used my outside shower once this year. We had a cookout with lobsters at our campsite and the pot we cooked the lobsters in was too big to fit under the sink faucet.

We love our outside shower , its good for doing dish's outside instead of dragging all the dirty stuff inside , cleaning fish , rinse off the dog-even giving our bicycles a quick wash . We didn't order it but it came with our trailer and we have found many uses for it.......but we have never taken a shower outside

Mine has about a 2' hose. Never figured a use for it yet?? What am I going to shower with it if I'm more than 3' tall? Maybe a dog? Don't have one. I'm with OP.

Maybe rig it up as a black tank flush system someday ?

All the above and can help extend stays at sites without sewer.

We use ours to fill the fresh water tank when we're at a site without water hookups using the winterization hose and the shower hose attached to the fresh water fill port. Just turn on the water pump no heavy lifting. Work smarter, not harder!

We also use it to rinse off the dog and our feet if really dirty before going into the rig and it was great for rinsing off the boys' toy trucks, etc. when they brought that kind of stuff.

We use it to rinse our feet and beach toys when coming back from the beach. Nothing worse than sand in the camper!

I rarely use mine at a full hook up campground but use it plenty boondocking.

As mentioned, it is great to rinse off your feet/boots, the dog, dishes or anything else to save on grey water filling.

The DW will sometimes wash her hair out there.

One thing I always found interesting...
Why is it NOT OK to dump your grey tank on the ground... but it is perfectly acceptable to use an outside shower for all the same actions for which the grey water goes into your grey tanks?

We used ours to rinse off after swimming in the Ocean while in Florida or walks on the beach. That kept all the sand out of our RV. We have also used it for some of the other things already mentioned. If you are camping and it rains you could use it to wash off your shoes or boots from any mud.

If you have a dog you will eventually need the outside shower.

I use my out side shower all summer long, I ride the four wheeler and I love playing in the mud. I use my out side shower to rinse all the mud off and after I clean the 4x4 off I'm dry enough to go in and take a real shower. I will always have and use the out side shower. I am set up permanent with full hookups. We only move it one or twice a year now.

x2 on some posts. I used mine for washing dishes mostly. Short hose was a problem and it was in the center of the trailer(hello wet ground). I bought a portable changing room/bath house and had plans to use it with an extended hose as a "rinse house" after kids swam. I am a FREAK and never let anyone use the shower(water is the enemy). DW has told me we are using the new units shower..a battle to be determined. We have not dry camped(weather mostly sucks here) and we use the bath house.

Since we wash dishes at the picnic table, I use the outside shower as a source of hot rinse water

we have used our outside shower more than we use our inside one (which is 'never').

When we had our camper at our lake lot, I had a curtain put up for privacy, and that was our shower.

I'm 6'4 and about 270 pounds and I simply don't fit in my campers shower stall.

Just used ours yesterday to give the dog a shower/cleaning. That's probably the only thing I will use it for unless I get an extension hose.

shower

I also have an outside shower room that we sometimes set-up but mostly I hook it to my fish cleaning table.

I have never used our outside shower but if you had young children that needed to be washed off it may be useful.
