A state trooper that patrols the interstate told me he writes a lot more tickets for too slow. Posted is max 65 but 75 is less dangerous than those violating the posted 45 minimum

I can't see just simply smiling while your dog takes a dump in front of me while I'm chillin' at my campsite. Apparently there are those that think my attitude is awful for that.

I don't understand that. But ok.

And no, I'd never hit anyone physically. But I'd ask them to move along. I see NO difference in your dog doing that on my campsite than on my lawn at home.

Am I that much in the minority????
You are most definitely not in the majority. When you walk your dogs where do they do there business? In your hand? they have to poop in someones yard. then it gets cleaned up.

I haven't seen a gas cart on a golf course in the past two years (or more). I think the majority use electric these days.

I'm sure there will be a lot of people that disagree, but when I hear the word "Glamping" it really makes me want to vomit. Any guy that uses the term "Glamping", it should be an automatic revocation of your Man card. My opinion don't want to upset anyone.

LOL I lost it. I don't really call it glamping, but I am not interested in camping without heat/a/c or a semi-soft place to lay and out of the bugs.

I say all the time.. The lord made 3 mistakes! Ticks, fire ants and mosquitoes.

Rving is not camping. It's a hotel room / small apartment you bring with you. I love both RVing and camping but they are entirely different activities.

I would add to your list of "mistakes": black flies, deer flies and no-see-ums.

Happy Trails

I camp. My DW glamps. If we want to go together, I glamp too. No man card lost there. Peace in the camper, we get to go lots (about once per month on average) and snuggling has its benefits. You can __________________ (FILL IN BLANK HERE) and all kinds of other fun stuff.

When I was a kid... long ago. You could look around for an ant mound.. no see one. Pretty safe to sit down. If you even put your hand down now... you are BIT!!! Makes me mad as a hornet. No DDT? You get fire ants.

Ours is much smaller, so I guess it would be called a Scow, Small Condo On Wheels.

Up until a few years ago some PA campgrounds had areas with electric only sites but over the last few years they have started to convert some to full hook ups. When they do that 2 or 3 sites get combined into one to allow room for the pull through or parallel half oval. Trees need removed and trimmed for shoulder and overhead clearances. It ruins the ambiance of the entire campground from what I've seen. The places were built to be campgrounds not RV Parks. If you need enough power to run 2 AC units and a clothes dryer, and need mini golf, swimming pools, golf carts, concrete patios at the sites etc, there are plenty of RV parks and full service private campgrounds around that cater to those needs. IMO they should be leaving the state park campgrounds more towards the primitive side of the table. It wouldn't hurt our feelings any if they removed the electric from the all the sites.

As far as the dog comments I do not even know where to go with those. I will not drag my dog down the road when she has to pinch one, choking by her collar and leash, because she needs to dump one 2 ft from the edge of the road, which I would pick up anyway. If someone was relatively close I would offer an apology. If you want to bite about it bring it on because I'm going to bite right back. As far as the comments about kids, I'll leave that alone.

There are plenty of campgrounds that do not allow pets or have areas that do not allow pets, at least around here. I would suggest if you have a problem with pooping dogs search those out. Here in PA until 2009 none of our state park campgrounds allowed pets and now the vast majority of the sites still are in non pet designated sections. It does not stop busy bodies from reserving pet friendly sites when they do not own a dog because they like that particular site, and then complaining that they are surrounded by dogs.
It's about time PA State Parks got on board with the 21st century. Our parks are pretty, but the facilities are shameful compared to other states. One of my peeves about PA parks has always been that the sites are too close together. So if they're opening them up and widening them to make room for septic and pull throughs, that's a good thing in my book. I can't tell you how many times I camped at a state park as a kid, in a pop up, and you open the door of your camper and are staring at your neighbor. Might as well just stay home. So I'm glad they're doing improvements.

Now, when they allow me to have a beer around the campfire, and their resident rates become competitive with private RV park rates, maybe I'll consider making a reservation.
