Pet Peeve
One of my pet peeves is campsites that are perpendicular to the road. I know that when many campgrounds were designed trailers were much shorter than what many RVers own today. Even so, making the campsite’s driveway perpendicular to the road was a stupid idea.
The longer rigs of today make a muddy mess of the ground around the driveway of these perpendicular sites, especially during wet weather. I know there are budget constraints at public campgrounds but I find it hard to believe they can’t make a plan for the future to add aprons to the entrance of these campsites.
It’s even dumber to put a dumpster directly across from a campsite.

I have one worse.
Where that rut is? Many of our COE campgrounds have a BIG TREE right in that rut. AND on other side too.

And neighbors park their TV in the road where you need to maneuver. Stupid!

Speaking of Pet Peeves...One of mine although a smaller one is alot of 1/2 ton trucks and SUV's that I see towing without adequate towing mirrors...The driver's must be comfortable knowing they can't see anything in their mirror's.

Unfortunately CG's ( some ), and with their budget constraints, cannot constantly upsize their facilities to keep up with what's currently trending with the ever increasingly TT lengths.
BACK THEN, I am assuming people were able to make the "swing" needed to clear the turns and still remain on the roads with their much smaller / shorter TT's, unlike the Rolling Mansions of today. Peoples needs have surpassed the standards of yesteryear.
It could possibly be a No-Win situation if they continue to make longer TT's, for most smaller CG's, State Parks, unless of course you enjoy Rving like some CG's do in the South......on Concrete! Then there's no problem with Mud.

Pet Peeve #2.............campgrounds, especially COE or State parks, that have about elebbenteen bazillion acres of actual ground........but put pads right next to each other and make them too small length AND width wise.

I agree. Most perpendicular driveways even have aprons. The CG's that did this made a bad cost cutting decision. So how about they step up and correct it by at least filling the ruts on either side with some gravel? It's just not esthetically pleasing to have almost every site with 2 large mudholes bordering the street. Even though the kids on bikes dig it. ;-)

Speaking of pet peeves, you gotta wonder who designed the campsites that have the table and firepit and bbq on the opposite side of your camper from where your awning, door, and steps are going to be once you set up.

Some of those perpendicular drives would take a paving crew just a couple of hours to improve.
I think the campgrounds with sites allover the place are the worse. We went to check out a state campground around the Sebring, FL. Glad I went in the car first. The campground map was terrible and everyone was parked in every which way you could imagine. What a cluster...

Pet peeve... CG's with no trees! Stayed at one in Arkansas, you could see every camper from anywhere in the CG.

Looking at your second picture, I could not help but wonder under what circumstances could cause those drag marks in the asphalt.

This drives me crazy. Especially when they see you trying to maneuver a 40 ft monster around it and they just sit and watch you.
