Picked up the new trailer

So yesterday was the day and we picked up our new trailer. Had some hiccups and some misunderstandings with the dealer, but in the end we pulled away and are happy. Did a test run last night on our way home from the dealer in Ohio. No doubts about the heat working!! Plus I got to re-winterize it today as we are going to have a few days with freezing temps!

Nice looking rig! Hows the ford pull it? I have a apex 300bhs that I just picked up a few weeks ago and am towing it with a 2013 f150 5.0. Only brought it about 20km from the dealer but truck seemed to haul it good.Dry weight of TT is 6000lbs.

Thanks! So far so good on towing. Our trip home from the dealer was around 150 miles, so not a bad test. You definitely know its back there, but the Equalizer E-4 did its job and made the trip fairly comfortable. The truck seemed fine as long as it was in tow/haul and the cruise control was on. Ran around 1600 RPM in the flats at 63mph.

We bought the truck in the fall when we thought we would be getting a Hybrid. Then we went to a RV show and the wife decided she liked the bunkhouse TT better. Of course I said ok, but I think we will want (need) a Super duty in the near future!

Good to know. I've heard good things about the equalizer. I'm running the Reese dual cam, also supposed to be one of the better WDH and sway control from what I've been reading. I'm also planning on upgrading to super duty...Prob not in the budget till next year though.

My wife wants to go down and stay at Fort Wilderness the fall of 2018, so I told her we should probably get the bigger truck by then, just to be safe and all!!

Good excuse for a new truck even if you don't need it. Nice camper.

Good looking rig! Truck/hitch seems to be taking it well. I had an F150 with my first Trailer and i think you will thoroughly enjoy a larger truck. My wife still laughs at me every time i get excited about he exhaust brake.

Congrats!! I pulled my first TT with a F-150 EB and it pulled fine. Decided to upgrade to 5er so we had to go to the F350.

Good luck with the new trailer. You'll love it!!

picked up the new camper

Very nice including truck and TT. Enjoy!!!

Wife and I picked up a '16 FR Cherokee Grey Wolf 26DBH a couple months back and getting ready to take maiden voyage on the 29th for 5 days to give it a test. We are new to this world, so a bit nervous.

This is our first trailer as well. I have spent the last two months reading and asking question on here as well as watching videos on YouTube. We camped for one night this past Saturday and I felt very confident in every aspect of setup, teardown, hooking up the hitch, etc, because of my time on this forum! There is so much knowledge to be had here and very helpful people.

Good luck to you. Not sure what engine is in your F150 but we will be using a 2014 SC with the 5.0 V8. It seemed to do great pulling it home from the dealer but that was only about 40 miles. Our trip in about a week will be 900 round trip so that will be a great test for the truck as well. I our TT is right at 6,000 lbs and really don't wish to have to go with any larger truck.
