Pilot Light
Hey Guys and Gals I know someone has this answer. the pilot light on my hot water heater keeps going out. I have'nt gotten into investigating real well. I do know on the stove I don't have any burps like there is air in the line. It hasn't been real windy. It's almost like it heats the tank up once and then goes out. I only use the hot water occasionally, but this morning before work it was busy at the shower house so I took a shower in the camper and it was cold. I just re lit it saturday because it had went out.
I am clueless.

My Lexington has two ways to heat up the water heater. One is with a little switch in the panel of the heater. The other is with lps gas. I use mostly the lps gas and keep the electric switch off. Hope this helps.

I know when we first got our Grey Wolf, I was too stupid to know you had
to turn something on to get hot water. First off I agree with using the
propane gas. When my husband gets home tonight I will try to mention
this to him as he has delt with this. Maybe he will have the answer.

If it lights but won't stay lit the problem is most likely the thermocouple, which is a little tube thing that sticks out in front of the pilot to make sure the pilot is still lit. If not it uses a relay to shut off the gas.
When I light my home furnace for the winter, sometimes I have to take the thermocouple apart and reassemble it. This cleans out some corrosion and the electrial path is restored. And I'm good for another year!
It will cost you nothing. Try it.

I agree with Radio...it could be the thermocouple.
I have heard of them getting insects/spider webs in there and they go inop.

Husband says the Cherokee Grey Wolf hot water heater runs
on electric only. Switch under the panel at the hot water
heater from the exterior of the TT. Not totally sure if he is
correct.

I know mine is gas only. It is brand new I will look at the thermocouple, if that isn't it I will take it by my dealer. It went out again yesterday so I lit it last night and it was off again by morning.

thermocouples are cheap too. I saw some at the dealer today for 7 bucks.
