Pop-up a-frame: Forest River vs. Aliner

Hi. New here.

We have decided on a hardside pop-up. There are Aliner and Forest River dealers in our town. The Aliners are significantly more expensive ($4000-$5000). Has anyone here had experience with both or done serious research? If so, how does the quality compare? I looked over an Aliner forum and owners seem generally happy with them but admit they're far from perfect.

Thanks!

I have had 2 campers for years... One was an Aliner classic - refurbished 2000 model. The other was a 28' camper. This spring I sold both campers and replaced them with a FR A frame. I'm very happy with the new a frame and it seems much stouter than the aliner. I looked at both aframes before buying my new FR. I made a good decision

We've had an A-frame section here since FR came out with them.
I suggest you start reading and searching the threads and posts there.

You'll find lots of reviews there, some from former A-liner and Chalet owners.

Aliner

We had an Aliner classic for about five years. It was a great little unit, easy to tow, set up in about 1 minute, and quite weatherproof with a good furnace. As we aged, we started to pine for a real bathroom, so graduated to another hard side trailer. We used it in three of four seasons and travelled much of western Canada and USA. They are a great concept and seemed to be getting more user friendly every year. Don't know much about the FR frame.

Smile Forest River A frame

I don't own one, but we bought a new Forest River Sunseeker motorhome and it has been very good to us. Also we bought it online from rvdirect.com they were great and they have 4 locations. They beat the local dealers (the're 3 in my area) price by about $18,000-$20,000. Rvdirect.com was about 20% lower than the local dealers. Good luck

Their price is $3K more than my dealer, not including delivery. It doesn't matter though, they don't deliver to my location.
