Portable Air Compressor

I am looking for a portable air compressor to carry in our 2016 Forester 3011 DS. I prefer one where you do not screw the fitting onto the tire valve and AIR RITE valves. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on what others have for their RVs and how well the compressor you have works. Thank you

I carry a small "pancake" type compressor with a yellow coiled hose. It's served me well over the past four years - https://goo.gl/EWDZTB

Another vote for the Viair. I have the 450P because I have 10 tires and my trailer tires are put up to 125psi.

I see I can get this for $149 on amazon. Feeling pretty silly since I bought a small 110v air compressor for $100 while I was in florida and it's useless to me on the road.
I bought it to blow the water lines out on my trailer for when we left our stop at Valdosta GA on the way back. Well my camper shell lock froze up and I couldn't get to it, so that didn't happen. I just drained it and prayed.

I had a 12 volt pump little smaller than the ones in the video and took about 5 minutes to raise the tire pressure 10 lbs. I purchase a small 110 volt compressor with two smaller storage tanks that works 10 times better then the 12 volt one. I normally fill my tires at home or at a camp site so the 110 with a 25 foot extension cord was the easiest option. If I need to use on the road I have a 1000 watt inverter that runs my fridge and I can plug into i and 110 when on the road and fill a tire if I need to.

That definitely depends on the 12v one. My Viair doesn't take near that amount of time and I've gone from 115 to 125psi with it before. In fact, I'll be doing that here shortly...

Portable Air Compressor

Had two 12 v ones. What a pain. Bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/PORTER-CABLE-C...air+compressor.

Makes life much easier. Fits nicely in rear cargo bay. Plug into 120 outlet on the side of the coach. Got a hose long enough to fill all of the tires and air bags.

yes, a 110 volt compressor with tank will work better, but that means nothing along side the road. 12 volt works anywhere. Better slow fill than no fill.

Amyone try one of those Puma 12v air compressors? They are kinda on the big side and draw a lot of current but seems like a good price..

Here is a link to one on Ebay:

Not a problem along side the road when you have a inverter that provides 120V. My 1000 watt inverter will power my residential fridge running for 18 hours it will power my 120V compress or few minutes.

I topped up my tire with the leak tonight - 108psi to 125psi in 3-4 minutes. My prior Porter Cable 3 gallon pancake compressor wouldn't push air into my tire up over 118 psi.

I use Viair, we have several of them that we use around the farm. If you don't have ready access to 120v it is the only way to go.

I understand that, but most people don't have one, so that's not an option. Everyone has 12 volts all the time.

Aaron

I have 2 I would like to get rid of. Though I guess I should keep one for the car.

My TT did not have a generator. The Viair and a plug kit saved me from a lot of grief more than once.

Jumper cables would've made a good extension cord in a pinch, vice kinking your hose.
