Portable Gas BBQ

I've been researching the purchase of a new portable BBQ. I'm looking for a reasonably priced grill with a stand. I was prepared to purchase the Coleman Roadtrip, until I read several reviews that stated the grille was not designed to cook with the top down. Anybody have a product they like or have had some good experience with? Thanks!

I use mine with the top down all the time and it cooks great almost as good as my $1000 Weber I have at home. I read many reviews where people said that the storage bag you can get for the grill is to small and the grill takes a long time to shoe horn in it. I call bull crap on that. My 6 year old could get that grill in the bag in 5 mins or less (if she could lift it. LOL) It fits great in the bag. Dont put to much faith in reviews I have found some are reliable some not so much, it's a great grill for a good price.

Weber Q220 here and we love it for camping and even for a quick grilling at home when we don't have time for charcoal.

The road trip is a great BBQ, last a long time if you take care of it.
The webber is a good one also, a little more expensive if you want the stand.
The Coleman is a workhorse!
Have fun.

Ditto here..we have a similair model made by another vender and we cook with ours down all the time. Great little BBQ since it collapses into a very small unit.

Excuse my ignorance, I thought that Weber was a waffle maker. I would have to make paninis out of my steaks. May fit well in the basement storage but challenging to Q beer can chicken or thick striploins.

I had a Roadtrip for several years that doubled as my home grill during a time when I lived in a condo. It worked fine, bit was not as portable as I would have liked. Last year I bought a WeberQ 100 for the camper and it has worked great. Seems to be a bit more durable than the Roadtrip, and I put it on a folding table rather than the optional stand. Both worked well, but I think I prefer the Weber of the two.
