Portable Heater
I've seen some of you post about bringing a portable heater to help off-set propane usage. I was checking one of my daily shopping sites today and saw this and thought I'd share.
Vornado VH2 Whole Room Heater for $40

We've used electric space heaters for many years when hooked up, save propane as you mentioned. Some of the little fan-forced units can be noisy, I saw this one at Costco and bought one, it puts out a lot of heat and makes little noise:

In addition to using a small electric space heater to heat our trailer while hooked up, we went one further for heat while dry camping... most RV propane furnaces are pretty noisy and they cycle on & off. I bought a portable propane heater that does an excellent job of keeping the rig toasty, doesn't use much fuel and is 100% quiet. It's ideal for dry camping, however we don't sleep with it on...

I added the cost to the first post. But that is why I posted. I had heard many others recommend the Vornado, so I picked one up for $40.

great in a 20' trailer -- less than 20 dollars
for a small elect heater -- it cooks
I decided not to take on our last trip out
our big elect radiator heater used at home
bought this little THING
it amazed us
even though pretty cold out in the desert
we could not leave this THING on high
it would run us right out of there
so
for something very small and cheap
you may wish to consider
we paid 19 dollars for said unit

That wall heater is pretty cool! (no pun)
I've never seen one before but it's a great idea.

I have had mine for a long time and love it.
While mine is 400 watts and I prefer it; the new one is 475 watts (10 - 13% heating performance increase).
With both electric heaters going my 30 amp service is a heavily taxed with the 1900 watts (1500 watts for the fire place and 400 watts for the wall heater).
1900 watts is 16 amps at 120 volts.
This leaves 14 amps for the rest of the camper.
2 1500 watt heaters is 3000 watts is 25 amps. It won't take much to start popping breakers.

I saw yours and was hoping I could just order on somewhere.
Thanks, Robert

Robert, I replied by PM, but the upshot was it was an OEM TV stand.
They might have them in stock.
Give their parts department a call.

On a recent trip up to 8000' in CO, two weekends ago, we brought along our trusty oil-filled radiator. I think you can get one for about $40 at Target this time of year. Totally silent, and CRANKS out the heat. No part gets so hot it will burn a kid, whereas the "blower" type of heater has a screen on the front that can get darn hot. We like the radiator solution.

Since our heat vents end in the hallway and bathroom in our 5th wheel, when we have guests we close the pocket door and the hallway curtain.
This cuts off all heat to the bedroom in our floorplan.
I added this wall mounted heater for just those times, and it has come in very handy. Since there is great circulation the wall behind it does not get much beyond warm. Note it works GREAT and only uses 475 Watts.
