With our B+, I was really concerned with weight (maybe too much so) and opted for plastic plates and light weight teflon cookware. The plastic was a PITA so we usually used paper plates and filled up a lot of garbage bags with them. I'd like to get away from all the paper plates although I'm not so sure it's all that much "greener" to use non-disposible.
The cookware is okay I guess for what I've been doing but as we venture out on longer trips, I'd like to try cooking in cast iron. I have a couple of cast iron skillets that I use at home and might like to try a dutch oven when camping. My sis makes some killer cornbread with her dutch oven in charcoal.
I use a tripod over charcoal a LOT. Many meals are done in aluminum foil on the tripod! Once the cooking is done, toss some wood on the charcoal and we're good for a campfire in the evening!
99% of our meals are prepared & eaten outside. I don't see that changing a lot but with more space inside, it would be easier to fix "indoor" meals. I guess on extended trips, the indoor option for variety would be handy. Who knows...I might even use the oven for an OVEN but does make a great potato/onion storage bin.
What do you guys prefer for cookware & dishes? and...NO... I didn't do a search first.
