I was reading an electrical site and they showed the amps drawn for typical items used in a TT. I noticed that the power boost antenna for my TV takes a lot of amps. I also noticed a green light on where I would hook up my TV (if I had one). My question is, does my power boost antenna use power even though it's not hooked to a TV?

yes it hooked to the board in the antenna. just turn it off

Mine does. I turn it off when not in use for just that reason. I presume it is an amplifier.

Yes, the wall switch "routes" 12 volt power to the power supply circuits in the roof antenna amplifier (white box on the Winegard Sensar antenna models) via a powered closed relay and "deselects" the cable input on the outside wall when the green light is on.

When you turn it OFF, the wall plate relay is deenergized and 12 volt power is disconnected from the roof; the 12 volt power draw is then zero amps.
