PPL Motorhomes- almost a class act
Things that make you go ?????
I was chatting back and forth with PPL about a potential deal and discovered a sort of bait and switch deal. They say they welcome trade ins as long as you wish to purchase a unit which is already on their lot. When it comes right down to it, welcome is not the word I would use. It appears like most dealers (although they toute they are a consignment place) they low ball you on a trade in and do not allow any negociations on the purchase of a new (to you) rig.
Seems to me if I was in the consignment business all deals would be negociations. I would be most effective in getting my customers RV's purchased and sold by being "creative", not exclusive.
I also had to ask myself why in the world I would want to consign my RV with a company which turned away a potential sale of my unit because they deemed the deal not to be lucrative enough.
I'm sure they have their reasons for doing business this way, but in my book something is always better than nothing. Instead of getting a nice TT to sell and make money, as well as selling a nice MH and making some money, it ends up being a zero. In this case both seller and buyer ended up with nothing.
