Looking for any ideas to protect the front of TT from damage caused by bird strikes.

Really? Unless you are in an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

I have been RVing full time for 4 years, all over the Country, and never had a bird strike me.

Believe it or not, we had a wild turkey cross the road in front of us and when we got close enough, it took off and hit the front cap of our camper and fell into the truck bed where it thrashed around and finally flew out.

In 45+ years I never had a bird strike of any kind and even with this one, I'm not concerned it will ever happen again.

Much ado over nothing.

May as well build a cage around the entire R/V as you have a better chance of someone running into you as you do a bird strike.

Sorry to further hijack this thread.
pappyg should have started an new thread with their question as it has nothing to do with the OP's question.

ON EDIT:
I see the mods moved this to its own thread... Thanks!

You can avoid bird strikes by flying above 2000 feet in elevation.

I have hit so many bird over the years that I don't recall how many. Pigeon, Turkey Vulture, Crows, little tiny song birds.
We have tagged 3-4 with our Ram Promaster High top van in the last two years.

I have had many a bird strike in various vehicles. Had a crow hit the cap of our Class C. No damage. Crossing fingers for current TT and TV.

Don’t know any technique other than slowing down. That’s what I do after hitting a flock of turkey vultures a couple of years ago. I thought the window was going to cave in. There were two dead ones wedged under my kayaks. Scared me spitless.

Guess you could always just zip tie one of those fake plastic owls to your grill to see if it helps. I've got Elmer Fudd on my grill and haven't hit a rabbit one!

Was crossing the bridge across the Columbia River near Boademan, OR one year and scared a flock of pigeons out of the structure. One hit the dead center of the windshield loud enough to scare the stuffins out of me. Didn't break the windshield but I was sure worried I might have to stop and change undies.

No way these collisions can be prevented. We just need to hope when it does happen the price tag isn't too high.

In our town motorists hit and kill an average of one seagull a day. No matter what they try the town can’t stop it. On the other hand they did manage to keep the gulls from attacking people for food on the boardwalk. They use falcons, hawks and owls. Cost is about $80,000 a year b

Not in the RV/trailer, but I was front passenger/spotter in a Bell Ranger helicopter one time doing about 140mph on a CAMP recon flight and we hit a blackbird dead on. That was LOUD!!!! Pilot said they usually come through the windshield at that speed. You see a black blur just about time you hear the "BANG", no time for the pilot to react.

Some of the ex-LE will know what CAMP is....

Ok. I’ll apologize in advance...can’t help myself!

Higher wages?
Improved working conditions?
Better benefits?
Isn’t that why most groups go on strike?

But didn’t realize birds were unionized!

Sorry. 🤣[emoji23]🤣 Sorry!

Haven't you ever seen their "union meetings" up on an overhead power wire?

Deciding which freshly washed car they're going to foul (or would it be fowl).

That $80,000 per year would purchase over 160,000 shotgun shells and more than a few bird hunters in the country would provide their services for free.

Probably wouldn't need but a fraction of that many shot shells to get the job done.

Locally my wife and I were walking on the waterfront and saw a seagull land on a restaurant patrons table, grabbed their sandwich, then flew off. If the patron had been quicker she could have buried a fork in the bird.

Oh! Sure I have! I thought that was an HOA meeting or political rally, the way they yell so loudly!

Good idea... except for the highly populated area of it being Ocean City, NJ's boardwalk.
