OK, I'll bite... Do you work in the industry? Think it is a sign of a economic issue?

Personally i love the cheap price, but for our Oklahoma economy, yes the low fuel and oil prices aren't good. It was really good when we had $5.00 diesel back in early to mid '08

Not the only one. My family is single income right now. I would love the liberals to not use any electric, or fuel (transportation and shipping and yes my father is in shipping if you have a treated floor in an utility trailer he might have hauled it). I see both sides of it but it sucks when you have lost your home and now leave in RV and have a child in school. When our jobs can be 2 weeks in one state and then to another state. Housing market sucks so logging is not a good option for a living now. Really wish sometime all oil based anything could be refused to the climate change or global warming group and see what impact oil has on their lives then. I am a registered forester so I have a background in that too on the debate. Just follow the money. When timber companies sell carbon credits to industries that use oil. My town is around 10 K in population and the gentleman said he had locked up over a $100 million carbon credit/year. Sorry I couldn't do something I don't feel comfortable telling my kids I do for a living. Same as selling drugs to me.

Yes I agree cheaper prices are great. Pretty sure you were being sarcastic to a point as I was being too. Sorry I got in the moment. Usually just read and move on. I know my father enjoys the cheaper prices as I do when I buy fuel. There are politics we will never change. Sorry to derail this thread.

Cheaper fuel price hurt the retired people this year. The price index (inflation) over all went down because of the cheaper fuel prices and our yearly SS check didn't get an increase. If we are conserving energy and the cost of everything went up we lose.

Yeah. My company mines sand, which is used in fracking. We have seen our volume drop about 60% in the last 12 months. We have had layoffs. My former company was a service to US Steel at Granite City IL. USS has decided to shutter the Granite City mill due to low demand for pipe. Roughly 2000 people at USS and maybe 70 at Suncoke (my former employer) will be laid off, with no prospects on the horizon for recall.

I know that majority of people rejoice at "a buck something" fuel. All I ask is to please remember that someone somewhere in America is paying the price for cheap fuel.

I just watched a show a few weeks ago on national geographic. It was about drug usage and such.. But the part relevant to this is this particular show covered the oil field workers and the boom town that are now bust.. I found it interesting how people making millions last year in the fields no live in trailers with nothing to their name. It is a shame people end up loosing over a drop in fuel price but I also think it is a shame that you loose your job due to a drop in production but the main oil company still makes record profits in the billions... You loose, we loose, they win.
