Yeah. My company mines sand, which is used in fracking. We have seen our volume drop about 60% in the last 12 months. We have had layoffs. My former company was a service to US Steel at Granite City IL. USS has decided to shutter the Granite City mill due to low demand for pipe. Roughly 2000 people at USS and maybe 70 at Suncoke (my former employer) will be laid off, with no prospects on the horizon for recall.
I know that majority of people rejoice at "a buck something" fuel. All I ask is to please remember that someone somewhere in America is paying the price for cheap fuel.
