propane warning beeper

My propane warning beeper went off and not being home l was wondering if anyone knew how to shut it off. Do you have to disconnect from battery then reconnect my wife cannot find a reset button any suggestions.

Yes, that is the only way to turn it off, but they should be replaced every 3 years, for them to operate correctly. The sensors inside of the unit are very sensitive to propane leaks. Also, if your battery gets low, the propane detector will chirp. It is very easy to bump the gas stove burner knob, and have a gas leak. My tanks were off, and the wife went in to clean the camper after a trip, and bumped the knob so it was in the on position. She did not notice a gas smell, and finished cleaning up, and went in the house. The detector went off several days, and we did not know why. She found that the problem was the knob was pushed in and ever so slightly turned on. Even though the gas tanks were off, the gas in the lines leaked in to the unit, setting off the detector. They are worth having, in my opinion. Randy
