Propane, where to find it on the road

I have had a few rvs, all were bigger then the isata 3 I have on order. My trips were a week or so and never needed propane on the road.
But now I plan on being on the road at least a month at a time. Where are the best places for propane, does flying J and other truck stops have it?
Thanks

Virtually any town except the smallest will have a propane dealer where you can fill your tank. A smartphone will lead you to them.

Flying J has it. I use UHaul when on the road. Also some Hardware stores and some Camping World and other RV dealers.
Also a lot of the Camp Grounds we stay at also have propane.

towing at 8-9 miles to the gallon I certainly am not going to drive far out of the way to find it/ try and save a few bucks.

does the isata 3 have special tanks that need to be refilled using special equipment? I'm guessing that's the case because 20 lb tanks are available virtually everywhere, from Walmart, to HD, to Lowes, to almost every garden center, etc.

After an experience at a Loves where the 'technician' didn't open the vent and told me something was wrong with my RV because it wouldn't take any propane, I've been paying the small premium and filling up at KOAs. They do campers all day, everyday year after year and I feel safe that they won't over pressurize or goof something else up when they fill the tank. You don't have to stay there, just have them fill and go on your way.

Some of the Costco stores have propane too. Best price you'll find (if you are a member).

Ace Hardware stores as well.

Menards and tractor supply also has it.

Worth noting is any place that fills will have to have it outside away from the building and usually highly visible.

I like using Loves. Where ever you buy it I suggest buying it by the gallon. You pay for the amount dispensed.

You should have no problem finding propane, it's all over, and normally it's easy in and out, not like getting fuel at some places

Lot's of places to get it filled as pointed out. Not sure where your tank is located on your new rig. Some need an extension to reach the fill valve, any place that routinely fills RVs should have it.

During the warmer months a tank of LP will last us all season. Cooler months not so good. Another option is an Extend-a-stay adapter that will allow you to hook up a portable tank while conserving your on board tank.

Make sure the dealer fills it up, propane will last along time if your just using it for, the refer, w/h and cooking. It would last month's, the propane hog is the furnace, all bets of if you use for that

We keep this thread on this subject matter here, that may can give you some ideas:

Being you have a motorhome with permanent tanks, it does take a place capable of refilling them onboard.

Tractor Supply is the best place I have found, they charge by the gallon. Most places charge so much a tank. I carry a 20lb tank for cooking and I can use that in a pinch

X2 on all the places suggested for propane.

And . . . there is an App "Alt Fuel" that lists multitudes of locations. Phone numbers and directions are included.
