Puma 30QBSS

Got the Puma home and set up.

I do not have a RV plug at the house yet. (will call handyman asap)
Tried a 20 amp household circuit and that works if the A/C isn't turned on.
Hooked up my 5500 watt generator and that worked for awhile running the A/C but then the breaker on the generator started to pop. This is plugged into the 30 amp service on the generator and using a pig to plug the RV cord into that.
It is extremely hot in central Florida today and the generator was in partial shade. So maybe the heat is affecting the generator also.
It took me awhile to get the fridge to fire up. The propane would not kick in even though the tanks say they have propane in them. After messing with it for awhile and almost passing out from the heat I got it running.
All it needed was for the connectors to the tank valve taken off and screwed back on and propane flowed firing the fridge.

Hot water heater works, no leaks observed anywhere.

The battery needs to be replaced, former owner says it is the original from 2008. The trailer lights flicker on battery power only .

I used my black and decker 12 volt drill to lower the leveling jacks, is there a more powerful drill that will actually move the trailer jacks up and down to level it? The former owner said something about a hammer drill???

Oh, and what do DH DW mean? I know the husband and wife but the "D"??

RE Drill: My Brother In Law (BIL) uses a corded drill instead of a cordless to be able to get the extra torque.

RE DH, DW: Stands for Darling. It seems to be the accepted form of short-hand on this forum, whether or not the spouse is actually "darling".

RE RV plug at home: There's a diagram somewhere in the library about how to properly wire these plugs. Be sure to provide it to your handyman. It seems a lot of them end up wired for 220 instead of 110 which could then fry the trailer.

Oh, and of course... Congrats on your new trailer. Hope you have many happy camps with it.

Reading another post I see that the generator is 30 amps at 220 volts and 15 amps at 120 volts. There lies the issue with the generator.

"Levelling" jacks is a misnomer. At best, they can be used to stabilize the camper once levelled, but do not think that you can level your camper with these jacks. They will bend and break under the weight of the camper.

Got 30 amp service installed just to the right of where the TT is parked.
I was able to inspect the roof and see that NO preventative maintenance was done.
This is the edge of the roof at the metal seam.

I sure wish I would have insisted on a roof inspection prior to purchase, just to haggle the price down.
The slide out roof.

Cleaned the roof with car wash soap with a dash of bleach in it and then the whole TT with car wash soap. Rinsed off well, no leaks detected at all on the inside.
A trip to Campingworld yielded Dicor and SticknBond along with other goodies.
Ace Hardware for Denatured Alcohol and will get the roof caulked and sealed up today (Friday)

DO NOT USE THE JACKS TO LEVEL THE TRAILER! These are stabilizing jacks only. You level from under the tires (Giant yellow leggo block looking things).

If you level with the stabilizer jacks they will break and you will go bump in the night. And then head for an RV body shop to do the repairs. I tried to warn a guy once, said he'd been camping 15 years doing it this way and I should just shut up. I should have a taken a picture of his trailer trying to a wheelie 2 weeks later!

Thanks for the info, got it on the leveling....

Long ass day but got the roof and slide out done. SticknBond on the roof of the slide out with some Dicor thrown in and the edges of the TT roof sealed up with Dicor. Hit the front and rear seams and any other spot that was cracking.
Dremeled the bathroom door latch so the door will close now.
Refastened one of the bases of the table to the floor as it was pulled off as the screws were stripped.

Next to do is take the cover off of the A/C and clean the interior.
