Just listening around 7.255 tonight. Same guys on 7.254, they have a schedule that starts at 8:00pm, seems to be every night. Still talking about seal coating the driveway. Roger, it may be best if you can try 7.257 in the future or find another freq without QRM nearby. I'm now listening at 7.257 (9:00pm) and one of these guys an 7.254 is still hitting me at S8 to S9 from South Amboy, NJ. Maybe a little further away than just 3MHZ would work better since they seem to be regulars.

Made it into the net but hard to hear in both directions, probably due to my location in Northwest Washington. I could hear WB4FSN pretty well.

Operating a IC 718 at 100 Watts with a G5RV from home QTH. The antenna is on a bluff about 130' above Puget Sound.

I was on 7.257 last night at 6pm west coast time and heard nothing on the southern Oregon coast. I don't have a very good antenna, an end fed wire, but when conditions are right I am able to make contacts in NY, SC, cuba but when conditions are bad next to nothing. I'll keep listening.

I heard nothing also. Some activity on 7.255 and 7.258 but no FROG activity. The noise level on 40M is pretty high, S6-7. 20M is quiet, no noise, no QRM either.

I never even tried, so there was at least one short. The problem with 20m is after gray line, the band is dead. Before grey line you can only work people under ~10 miles and over ~300-400 miles. 40m is by far the best compromise. I run a net often from here and on 40m and after 9-10 PM EST, the US is workable from the East Cost to the West coast with 100W and decent antenna. I even check in Alaska and HI on most nights. Winter is much better since the band is quieter (s/n). But I was on the net I mentioned, Sunday and Monday and the full US was workable.

I have not decided on a good mobile rig. Not willing to take my Kenwood TS-570 out of the shack.

What I did was install a Yaesu 857 D in my F150 and have been having a blast. There are a number of good all band radios out there for not much money.

I have tried a few times but only made contact once from NW Washington. I think they got my call but was never sure that they understood that I really was FROG with a Georgetown.
