Question for B.C. Lower Mainland RV'ers.....

..... who have imported a new Forest River RV from U.S. into our area. What experiences have you had, pro and con, regarding obtaining after sale warranty or normal maintenance services, particularly with regard to local dealers ? Or, have you found it necessary to return to your U.S. seller for service ?

Please, I am referring to actual experiences, not general feelings in this regard. Appreciate the help.

If you are looking at new try giving the GM of Travelhome RV(Bill Powers) in Langley a call armed with the url to the US item you are looking at buying. We were a week away from flying down to Texas to pick up a new 378 when I tried this. They came down $28K to within $5K of the price on the US one I was looking at after I factored in my travel costs and the inspection fees. We`ve imported other vehicles from the states before so I had no worries on the process but given all the `new unit` woes I read about on this forum I decided $5k was worth the peace of mind of being a priorty on a local dealers radar. Still working out slider bugs on my unit but I do have to say we have been very happy with the service manager (Jim Lien) at that dealer.

Good luck with the shopping I know exactly where you are in the differnence on the US/Canadian pricing and the angst about the reception you are going to get from local shops on a US coach.
