I hope these photos were helpful.

I'm thinking we might need to check for an Adam's apple on the "lady" in yellow.

Anyway, it is looking like my dear husband Oakman is turning into an official DOM (Dirty Old Man).

I thought I’d share a few more photos of Gulf Shores. In the heart of Gulf Shores there is a very large marsh/swamp area and along hwy 59 there is a short boardwalk over a small portion of the marsh. Here are a couple of pics of the some of the residents in that marsh.

Pizza Hut, a motorhome leaving Luxury RV park, and a gator. There is an alligator in the lower right hand section of this photo.

Here’s a pic of a water snake and a crab tolerating each other’s presence.

I guess the Wienermobile was here for spring break too.

More beach scenes. Here’s a beachcomber looking for buried treasure.

Fraternity Brothers on the beach. Many fraternities would set up a canopy, their fraternity banner, a table, a cooler with adult beverages, and then sit back and wait for the girls to show up. Surprisingly, at least to me, this strategy seemed to work.

Rambling Thoughts w/pics

Yes.... Keep them coming!!! We made it as far south as Wapeppalo Lake: Kids are out and I have had a few Jim and gingers and wish we had made it a little further.

Next year.... Gulf Coast or bust!

Yesterday the weather forecast was calling for rain and while it was cloudy in the morning it turned out to be a beautiful beach day with partly cloudy skies. The weather guessers down here are just as bad as the weather guessers in St. Louis.

Times sure are different. When I was a young man the girls never carried around a cooler of beer with them.

Best display of love at the beach. When you’re willing to push your disabled partner along a sandy beach, that’s true love.

New trend in women’s beachware? I’ve seen more than a couple of young ladies wearing 1950’s style swimwear like the gal in the red polka dot bikini. If this is the latest trend in swimwear I’m against it. BTW, the guy in the photo gets my award for the best facial expression as the cute girls pass by.

It’s not unusual to see ex-FEMA trailers at RV parks and this one gets my vote for the best use of an ex-FEMA trailer…SPRING BREAK. Five spring breakers are living in this one.

One of our (many) favorite places to have a beer is on the patio at Tacky Jack’s II near Fort Morgan. A late afternoon fog was rolling in when I took this photo.

Once again the "scenery" is "out" "standing"!
Next time I'll hold all your camera gear and help spot "great scenes".
Do you suppose that "scenery" is available for sunset "shots" ?

I'm sure there are plenty of "shots" here in Gulf Shores during spring break. Walmart had to restock this shelf three times that I know of.

That's one way to get rid of lime Jell-O.

We’re been staying at Island Retreat RV park for the month of March. We choose this park because we can actually get a site. In my opinion the best place to stay is Gulf State Park here in Gulf Shores. Snowbirds usually have the state park booked solidly from January thru March.

Gusty winds kept us from the beach yesterday. Wind can turn the sugar sand beaches of the Gulf into an abrasive sand blaster. Instead of the beach we drove over to The Wharf in Orange Beach, AL for lunch and some shopping. There is a boat show at The Wharf this weekend so there were already quite a few boats along the dock. The Wharf is an interesting area and serves as a concert venue, has a small water park, a cinema, retail shopping and restaurants, and a huge Ferris wheel.

I don't think I can afford any of the boats at this boat show.

The Ferris wheel in the shopping area of The Wharf.

Later in the day we drove over to Billy’s Seafood to buy some “fresh off the boat” shrimp to bring back home with us. Fresh shrimp tastes so much better than what is available in St. Louis.

Billy's Seafood on Bon Secour River near the bay.

One more indicator that we’re in the south, the county sheriff’s name is Hoss.

The Blue Angels arrived back in Pensacola, FL this week after being absent for a year due to the government funding cut backs. They had a practice session scheduled today so we drove over to the Naval Air Station to watch. What a crowd, traffic was a nightmare getting on the base. There must have been 10,000 people in attendance. It was worth it.

This was the first time I’ve ever tried to photograph high speed jets doing aerobatics and I had to take a lot of shots to get these few good ones.

If you ever get the chance to see the Blue Angels perform, do so!

I don't think I'd want to mess with a sheriff named Hoss. Shoot first, ask questions when the barrel has cooled.

I was way off on my crowd estimate. The news reported a crowd of 25,000.
