Range top vent hood.

How do I open the outside flap so my hood will vent?

There are a few different styles of vent and damper, but the one that has caused a recent rash of posts here is tough at first. It eventually gets easier.

Push up on both tabs with your thumbs and it should open.

See the picture above on the previous post.

Now my vents open, now I have to drop the microwave and turn the motor around

Turn the motor around? It should already be set to blow out the vent, no?

Or just reverse the wires if it is blowing the wrong direction.

Maybe the trailer was built for Australia. Everything spins backwards south of the equator ya know!

This thread has become confusing to me. The vent on the outside of the trailer is for the range hood fan, not the microwave. Most RV microwaves Iíve seen are designed to vent into the trailer not out the hood vent.

As you can see in the picture the Microwave vents air out the top and into the trailer.
