Ready to start camping in 2012

I know it is still months before we pull the TT out from under its cover and off the ramps and head down the highway to some weekend getaway. But already made a reservation at Stockton Lake State Park in Missouri for Father's Day weekend. Two sites--my brother is bringing his pop-up camper as well.

The DW and I are trying to layout our plans for a Mt. Rushmore trip in September. Also kicking ideas around for the long holiday weekends that arise beginning in May. Wish spring would hurry up and arrive.

Planning trips for next camping season helps to pass the time duing the long, cold winter.
Also doing a few mods or fixes. Anything to help ease the "craving"!

Memorial Day Weekend has the campgrounds near Branson on Table Rock Lake nearly booked(at least the best sites by the water). Booking window is 6 months out & I missed it by a couple of days. That will teach me!

New to camping as of 2011

Bought my first RV last June. Had it out on long weekends x 3. Absolutely love camping with the Jayco.
Cannot wait until after March to take her out again. It is like waiting for Santa Claus to show up on the roof. haha

Hunting trip next week, our annual desert camp over MLK weekend, possible two more camping trips in February and at least one trip in March...the advantages of living in the southwest. Most likely there will be snow involved in at least one of these trips and there has in the past, but we also haven't had snow at times.

Then we start planning our camping trips for the summer.

2012 Camping

Nailit,

We went to Patagonia 4th of July weekend for our maiden trip. Alot of fun and learning curve.

Another trip was in Safford at Roper Lake. Small State Park but nice and quiet and clean.

Then back to Patagonia. Hoping to get up toward Apache Flats, Phoenix parks this year. Maybe a trip to NM also.

Kathie,

We will be southeast of Patagonia next week hunting for Javalina and deer for a week. We consider that our New Year Eve's camp. Last year it was in the low teens at night, but this year the forecast will be alot warmer. Our desert camp is near Florence.

We have property in NM, so we will be there once it starts to warm up in the late spring fro a few camping trips.

Have fun camping...

We aren't through camping this year yet. Setting in a state park next to Mobile as we speak, thru Friday. Planning on two trips next year, three weeks in Jan, and 6 months starting in April.

Nailit,

Weather should be good for hunting then. Good luck!!! Hope you get your allotted amount. They run thru the wash here near my property. Wanna come "hunt" them? lol

Enjoy your trip~

South Dakota started accepting reservations for 2012 at Custer State Park only at 7AM (Central Time) this morning. DW and I got our 3 days reserved for September at our first choice campsite. We have other nights to book for this trip but if you stay in SD state parks you can only use the 90 day reservation window. Not bad for the second day of the New Year--already have 14 nights reserved on various trips. Happy New Year everyone!

We are planning to head to either goose island Texas or South Padre Island for the MLK 3day weekend. I'll wait a few days before to see if the weather will be sunny that weekend before reserving a spot. Meanwhile just prep and plan. Hang in there guys.
