Recharging the battery

Hello,

I'm trying to use my Travel Trailer for the first time. I'm not sure if you need to have the main beaker turned on in order to charge the battery. I have the 120V line plugged into my outlet in the garage.

My WFCO 3-Stage Converter with Panel 70VF also has LED 7 always "on".

Any help here?

Thanks

Yes your "main" in your camper must be on.
Your garage outlets are not gfci protected are they?

Yes, the converter is what charges the battery. You have to be connected to a form of 120 volt AC power (which includes having the main breaker on) for the converter to function ....thus recharging the battery. Depending on what brand/model converter you have will depend on how well it charges your battery and maintains it. Not all converters are equal.

Here are a couple of articles from Mark Polk to read at your leisure that may help explain the electrical system and the converters function ....to help in the understanding of it all. Please feel free to ask any/all questions.

Welcome aboard.
