Have stayed in Texas state parks love them, if you are a disabled vet. You can get a pass that waives entry fees so you only pay camping fee. Every one we have stayed in the Rangers and park workers was was helpful and friendly.

Big Chief in Burnet is on the lake and has clean, family friendly facilities.

Garner State Park. We camped in many in the Hill Country...Garner was one of the best!

Well, we cancelled our reservations for this weekend at Canyon of the Eagles. Too much rain. We're going to try again in April. Rats!!
