Red cedar scraps as fire starters?

Recently put up a fence at our house and have a ton on red cedar scraps...think they will make a good fire starter? I chopped up a box of small sections and they seem to start quick in the fire-pit........with no the trailer winterized I may have too much time on my hands.

I cut out an old cedar fence this year that had rotting footings. Makes great fire pit wood! Burns very hot, crackles, pops, smells great. Watch out for sparks however as that's the downside of burning cedar. I picked up a bag of "Fat Wood" at Menards. This works great for starting fires also. The Original Fatwood Firestarter - 100% All Natural Fire Starter Sticks - No Chemicals or Additives
