I've ordered the custom wedge from Reese (ordered from etrailer). Should be here by end of week. I'll install before our next trip in 2 weeks.

Don't have what, a Revolution hitch or a custom wedge? If you do have the Revolution wedge, you should definitely have a custom wedge if the Revolution is activated. Otherwise you are prone to have what happened to Glenn happen to you!

To fit different makes of hitches. The chutes are not all the same and the wedge should fit the chute with minimal clearance on the sides.

I've try'd, with no success, to get a pic. breakdown to see the copondents to have a better under stand'n ......when I think wedge, I think taper. I watched the on-line videos, but that was breezed over fairly quick.

So, one doesn't have to have a specific truck hitch to use with the 'revolution'?

There is only a few that it will not work with, like the air hitch and a few more. I don't know of the name that wraps around your pin but that's another. I just got notice that trucking company will pick my new one up Friday from the plant. The weight on the bill of laden they sent me says 150 lbs. So I don't know what they are sending with it. Noway the pin arm weights any 150 lb. maybe there sending a 16k one instead of the 10k I have now. I guess also they are paying to have it installed. That's good of Cequent being mine is 4 years old.

Nope, the revolution/sidewinder will work with most (almost all) non-slider hitches.
The hitch-up process is more-or-less the same as any other hitch, but the wedge, which sits right behind the king-pin, fits in the slot that the king-pin slides through into your truck hitch, and stops the king-pin/arm rotating in the jaws of the hitch, instead forcing the rotation point to be at the pivot point on the revolution/sidewinder where it attaches to the trailer.

The custom wedge is a better fit for your specific hitch, than the generic one.
This is the one I just ordered: -

instead of the generic one: -

(that's actually an aftermarket replacement for the generic, but pretty similar)

This is a photo (not mine) of the Revolution/Sidewinder, with the generic wedge, hitched to the Reese Titan hitch that I have: -
