Well, Thanks for all the info I got back for my question on the use of the wedges available for using the universal wedge supplied with the unit or buying a custom wedge made for my hitch. I have a Husky 16k-S system mounted on the truck. I tried the universal wedge supplied but did not like the slop when inserted. I went to e-trailer and purchusted the recommended wedge by reese (SW004). This is a custom wedge to fit my hitch. When I got it, it would not fit, it was like over an 1/8" to wide and only caught about a 1/4" of the funnel area. I called e-trailer who was very nice and said that either Husky changed the deminisons or the wedge manufacturer tolerances were off and to send it back free for a refund. I then called Cequent (the Supplier of the sidewinder) And spoke with Craig a customer rep. He said to measure the pin opening and I did and it was 3" he said that he would send me a Pro Series wedge that was 2 and7/8" wide that should slide in. Well it did but the flair for funnel was about 3/8" to big on both sides so that would not work. I then figured out that if I only had to cut down the funnel area why not take it to a machine shop and have the cut it down to fit. Well $15.00 dollars later I picked it up and now it is like a solid plate installed. I had no problem with hooking up and unhooking. Now I'm a happy camper again. The best part was that Craig called me back to make sure I was happy and I explained what I had done and he said great. I hope this helps other to find or make a perfect fit wedge. Why have a sidewinder if you can not use it.
