Reese Revoluton (sidewinder) hitch

Just picked up a 2014 Rockwood 8289ws last week with the Reese Revolution hitch factory installed. 1st observation was service people at dealer were not very knowledgeable about this hitch which may contribute to a lot of problems I have read on this site. There are two ways to use this hitch, one in the standard config if you have a long bed truck. There are two bolts on the bottom trailer end that keeps hitch locked. If you want to use it in the swivel mode for a short bed truck you remove the two bolts and remove the bolts holding the wedge to the bottom of the hitch. Mine shipped with the universal wedge which will work with most hitches. However they do make a custom wedge for different hitches. For the Drawtite I have it is Part Num SWW-003. The wedge is a steel plate about 8 " or so long with slots cut in it to allow it to slide for adjustment. It is held on by two bolts thru the slots. You leave it loose hitch up and pull forward 10-20 feet then stop and set parking brake, then put TV in park. This sets the pin in the full forward position and then then wedge is driven into the throat of the hitch until it stops. Rear bolt is tightend first then front bolt. That's it. Also it is recommended white lithium grease is applied to the sides of the wedge and rear of pin prior to hitching. A Teflon lube disc is not required when using the hitch in the sidewinder mode as the pivot point is at the 5th wheel itself. Hope this clears up a lot of misunderstanding on how this hitch works.
