Bob forget the out-of-staters. We who live in Mass know the RMV. First thing would be to call your insurance agent he/she should be able to walk you thru the required paperwork, call the seller for the Certificate of Origin, provide the RMV-1 stamped and have a runner pickup your plates(with your check of course). When I bought my MH in NY I was able to do everything by phone or email with the seller and my agent. I did have to do a second run to the Registry however since they wanted a second CofO on the Ford chassis. Just remember whats it all for and enjoy your new rig

Couldn’t agree more. Call your insurance agent and follow their directions. Easy

Yes, I am from Mass and bought a Motorhome in Indiana. I had to provide my insurance info and they sent paperwork to my agent. Then gave me a temp tag which was good for 25 days. About 10 days later, I got all of the remaining registration paperwork from the dealer and brought into the registry to transfer my old tag. On the way home, I put my real plate over the temp plate so it would work with my ezpass. Some complicated? After that I registered it in Florida. The moral of the story is that it's simple and you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

In MA if you are moving into the state from another state and if you purchased a vehicle within last 6 months you would need to file for a sales tax exemption. You do not need to pay sales tax to MA if moving from another state in most instances. If you live in MA just register the out of state purchase in MA to begin with. No draconian rules.
