We pay sales tax combined 13% then just tag fees $98 for truck one time for trailer $46 no luxery or local tax grab. We pay the difference in tax on a trade, not double taxes.

Same here in NC. As I don't live in within city limits all I pay are county and fire taxes on the vehicles. The combined county tax rate for my county is .614/$100 of assessed value. The rate is a bit more on the house due to school bonds but it's only .03 percent more. It can cost 2X to 3X more in the cities but I still don't know of one in my area that isn't under 2% for the total rate.

I payed
8.625% sales tax (2500$) (one time)
168$ title and license fee (one time)
60$ per year registration (yearly)
14.50 per year inspection (yearly)

It's not the registration fees that get you. Like California, Arizona has a personal property tax on the vehicles when registered, and that's what drives the cost of registration up.

Only positive note on that is that the Tax can be deducted from your federal tax return, IF you itemize deductions.

I'd like to see the % of people in AZ that own RV's compared to the % in TX. I'd be willing to bet that AZ is actually LOSING money with that type of tax structure.

Isn't it ironic that a policy likely developed to "punish" rich people through taxation keeps poor people from participating in an extremely beneficial family activity.
