A friend at church recently traded in his old Class-A for a brand-new one. (It's HUGE). He showed me his registration receipt...over $4,000 for the first years plates! Holy rip-off, Batman...it's no wonder so many Colorado Class-A buyers go up to Montana and get a PO Box and register it up there.

I just registered my 33-foot Rockwood travel trailer...$461. (It would've been much higher if my dealer didn't give us a huge mark-down in price.)

On our registration, it's called an "own tax" and has to be paid EVERY year. (It does go down every year, as the "worth" of the vehicle goes down...but still a HUGE rip-off, IMHO.)

It's amazing how state attorneys general will go after businesses for price gouging yet they'll put it to their own citizens without blinking an eye.

Ouch! When RV dealers set such ridiculous "MSRP"s that is an awfully expensive proposition

CT just went to 2 year reg and its $75 for a camper. I'm sure the town will hit me for ~$700 /year in excise tax.
