After the sales tax on RVs of 6%, one time at time of purchase. My fiver is less then $60 per year for registration fee and $14.50 for annual inspection fee. My F250 is also less then $60 per year registration and also $14.50 for inspection because it is a diesel. For a gas truck in the county that I live in it is $39.50 per year for inspection because of the emission test.

I took the number from our Contract paperwork because we just bought our TT this last March/April and now I'm thinking that amount must have also included a licensing fee. When I look online at what the registration fee should be, it comes to around $58 per year for the county I live in. I'm certainly grateful camping in comfort is affordable here in Texas whether it's $58 or $104 per year, but $58 is definitely better!

I'm not so sure about the being comfortable with the tax here in Texas.
$65,000 purchase price @ 6.25% sales tax = $4062.50 then you still have to register it to get the tag every year of about $70 bucks or more. I'd say they get you one way or the other. Maybe you didn't notice the sales tax like I did. No matter where you live you never really own anything because if you don't pay the tax the Tax Man will take it away from you. LOL Got to pay to play or camp. LOL

Good point! That's one of the reasons why we didn't buy a $64k trailer It was a one time cost for us that was in our range of affordability. But...if I had to pay close to $2k every year well then...I guess I would not be enjoying this forum

$2K a year is crazy, I guess they hit us upfront then back off.

In PA a trailer tag is $12/year...new, used, old, worth $1 or $1m.
Trucks reg is based on weight class, our silverado is $81/year, a car $36.
BUT we pay higher gas taxes than many states..I can go 12 miles over the line into Ohio and save nearly 50c a gallon!

Your alcohol taxes aren't cheap either. Learned that a few years back when we made a visit to the Philadelphia area and ended up making a trip across the bridge to restock.

Purchased a 2007 Class C in 2014. In Ga, we pay the taxes now at purchase. Just received our tax/tag bill for $20. Same as my 2012 Toyota Prius.

Is this the result of paying The tax on a new purchase? With tag / title?

Yes, Colorado is also crazy expensive to register vehicles which includes any trailer and RV. We do have a sales tax but, then, there's this sneaky "owners tax" that we pay yearly when we get our tags. With the big RV's, it can be over $1,000. A few years ago, Colorado cracked down on a bunch of folks who bought $100K+ Class-A's but then they'd drive up to Montana and get a post office box and register in that state. (No owners tax there.)
I have a couple weeks left on my temp tags but expect to be shelling out around $600 for the first years tags....ow ow ow

Huh? Are you considered agricultural? My registration in Iowa is considerably more than your quote, both truck and trailer.

Sheesh... I want to move out of CA even more after reading these replays... I pay 4 bucks a gallon for 91 octane fuel, 10.25% sales tax and almost 40% income Tax. I won't even get into vehicle registration cost and property tax... RIDICULOUS... I'm just glad I have the family (5yr old,2yr old and the lovely DW) to burn marshmallows over the camp fire with. Somehow the cost of living disappears when we're drinking cocoa by the fire.

I get to drop $1,100 this year, $720 trailer tag, $220 car tag, $150 tag for the 13 year old truck, a motorcycle and utility trailer make up the rest.

I would have pulled the plug had I known, but I couldn't get anyone from the tag office on the phone.

In Virginia tags are a one time cost of $79.00. Never have to renew yearly permanent tags. Now the Town and county has personnel property tax on things like trailers, boats and cars. All based on the year of it and depreciates every year as it gets older.
