remind me to never order from Camping World again...

So I have a little project going and placed an order a little more than a week ago to Camping World for 3 items. All items are in stock, choose faster delivery method, not in a real hurry, so I should have them in plenty of time.

After 3 days go by I realize I never got a shipping confirmation. I go their site and enter order number to find out order is "open." Not sure what that means, I call. Their rep tells me that they typically take 5-10 business days to process an order once it is placed during the "busy season." I ask to confirm, which he does, that all pieces are in stock, but that it takes them 5-10 days after they bill the credit card to physically pick up the items and place them in a box for shipping.

Somewhat exasperated I ask him what happens if the items are no longer in stock 10 days later when they get around to filling the order, his response; "that happens all the time."

A rainy day camping is better than a sunny day at work.

Wow! I have always received anything I ordered from Camping World in just a few days.

I will be watching this topic to see what others have to say,

I have had good luck with CW orders except once when the item was out of stock and it took a lifetime to get it.
Great choice for "Living within my means" and camping for one...

That surprises me. Camping World has been consistently fastest and most likely to have stuff in stock for me. I like the deals I can find on Amazon...but if I want or need something quick, CW has been the preferred route to go.

Never had a problem with Camping World which I use once in a while. Amazon has been flawless and I use it Amazon constantly. I always compare prices and provide feedback about product, service, support and price.

Strange, I just received my Oxygentics shower head about 2 weeks ago & received it in less than 5 days. I have found that shipping occurs faster if I use PayPal which gets charged to the same credit card (but is is verified already by PayPal).

If I order early enough in the morning, the items get shipped that day. Newegg always seems to do this.

I've never had an issue either. Can find things less on Amazon some times but otherwise I use Camping World.

I buy a good amount of stuff from Amazon and never really had an issue with delivery. They are increasingly using the smart post type shipping where UPS of Fed-Ex takes it to the nearest post office and they deliver it. Unfortunately I live out side of town and the packages don't always fit in the parcel boxes that are in the bank of mailboxes and I have to drive into town to get my package.

I have placed 2 orders from CW and they came fairly quickly...within a week. I always compare prices with amazon. Remember....CW has sales tax and amazon does not.
