Rental gone bad!!
This is me venting my frustration from today that gas greatly affected our trip. I'm sure most of you have had a situation like this at one time or another.
My family have been planning to go to the Indy car final race in Fontana,California for a few months now. Rather that taking our pop up trailer and having limited water resources in the infield we chose our selling dealer to rent a sunchaser. Well, they called me this morning and said the generator in the rental was busted and they wish just to refund our money. After a discussion on how this would ruin our trip, they offered to put us in a "a" class but they would need more time to get it ready. We arrived two hours late to pick it up and it wouldn't start. After an hour, they gave us a quick walk around and the keys. It was then that we were noticing the "age" of this Georgetown. It was very rough- most the blinds were broken, the slide out had a "trick" to it, and it had over 100k on it. Feeling like we had no other choice, we took it home only to have other problems. First and foremost, generator didn't work and was puking oil on the street. Realizing that these have been HUGE signs not to take these vehicles, we returned it for a full refund.
Another rv rental place would have one ready for me tomorrow at ten but by the time we drove to the track, we would miss qualifying. Luckily, we have a friend that is not using their class a so they are loaning it to save our trip.
Sigh- I feel better venting out my frustration. Now have to load up and get ready to hit the road!
