Replacing RV stereo with a Double Din unit-how?

I would like to replace the unit that came with my trailer, with a double din automotive unit.
the rv unit is close to 13" diagonally. The automotive one is close to 7". how to cover the hole or where to get a plate tjat would allow me to do so?

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before.

The hole is going to be a rough opening, so no finished edges. My thought would be to frame the hole and add a wood filler panel to match, or contrast, with your existing cabinet. Then mount your double din bracket to that, may have to add support to hold the back side though.

A friend of mine used a wooden floor register from one of the local hardware stores. He then cutout the fins and mounted a piece of plywood on the back of the register to support the new radio. Covered the large hole and looked OEM.

This is just a quick search:

Shop Accord 4-in x 8-in Unfinished Floor Register at Lowes.com

Good Luck.

Here is what I did, I replaced the old unit and added a Kenwood CD player and made a close out with floor tile that looked like wood for the face plate, I also added switching for LED lights and the other switches control the speakers by zones. Bedroom, Living room and outside speakers.
