Residential refrigerator left on or off

What do you all do with your Residential Refrigerator in storage do you leave it turned on if you have the ability or do you turn it off. We have our unit next to our house so it can be plugged in all the time just wondering what people do when it's in storage for two three four weeks or more. Thanks for your input.

When my camper is storage, I turn off all the AC breakers except for the main and 12V converter just so I can keep the batteries charged up. I even do this between camping trips. I leave nothing perishable in the camper if I'm not actually camping at the time.

How often do you use your R/V?

If you have the ability, leave it on unless you are concerned about the small amount of electric usage. Being you store at home, you can check on it if need be.

While ours isn't a residential style refrigerator, we leave ours on 24/7 during the summer months. We leave lots of stuff in there. (condiments/cold drinks etc.) That stuff is then packed and ready to go for next time out. One less thing to do.
Do you turn off you home refrigerator?

I buy cases of condiment packets like the ones restaurants use that do not require refrigeration. I do store drinks in the camper but not in the fridge. It takes only a few minutes to load up the fridge and turn it on 24 hrs before heading out and everything is plenty cold by the time I leave.

I leave it on during camping season.

if you turn it off leave the door open so it can dry and not mold

Modern res. fridges are so energy efficient and well insulated, I would leave it on for a nickel a day.
On the other hand if you would turn it off and it warms to ambient temperature it would take hours to cool it back down to the core.
Six of one or half a dozen.

I leave our res fridge running 24/7. When the coach is in storage we plug it in to keep the battery's charged and keep the fridge running. We usually keep some food and drinks in there at all times because we use our RV every couple weeks.

Leaving it open will keep it dry and mold free as well.

FWIW, I leave it stocked and ready to roll all year. But I do occasionally turn it off when it's going in for maintenance or repairs. I use a Fridge Fixer to keep my residential fridge doors closed while driving and open for storage. Quick and easy! www.recubed.solutions

Here in Florida, I leave on my 5th-Wheel Air Conditioning and the RV-type Fridge on 24/7/365. If there is ever any problem, I want to find out ASAP before my next trip--NOT on the day I begin to power up for a trip. I don't notice much change in my power bill. Whatever small amount it costs is worthwhile for keeping the interior dry and fresh and the other advantages and conveniences. Going on over 5 years now.

Turned off if more then a week with doors propped open so it can breath. If I come home and im going out again right away the next week I would plug in and leave on.

residential refrigerators have what is called a halo around the case where the doors shut some are electric but newer models are part of the Freon system and it depends on what the manufacture used some are steel tubing these will rust and end up leaking Freon out mine is a frigidare French door unit and not knowing whats in it I leave it on 24/7

I'm able to keep my DX3 behind my house (which will soon be sold). I had a battery watering system installed the first year when I switched from the TWO, OEM 12VDC house batteries, to SIX 6VDC house batteries (more than quadrupling my amp-hour capacity). I bought a 10ga, 100' extension cord and, keep my DX3 plugged into a 15A outlet all the time. The OEM 22 cubic' fridge stays on all the time.
