Roadside Assistance Programs

While coming home from a three week stay in Florida, our travel trailer sustained two China Bomb blowouts...one each day...which I had to take care of myself. We aren't members of any Roadside Assistance Programs, but am seriously considering it now. I'm a senior citizen and definitely getting too old to continue doing this. LOL. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any comments or pros/cons of the different Programs available for people who RV. I pull a 35 ft. travel trailer if that's of any consequence to your replies. Thanks for all opinions and looking forward to reading all suggestions. Thanks again.

Coach-Net is good. Look at the details of what each program offers in terms of roadside assistance, 24 hr. phone support, rental car and lodging if needed, towing - how far and to where (ours provides for towing to the nearest qualified service dealer which is important because we have a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis and in some areas the authorized service centers are not close by), etc.

When I had roadside assistance thru Good Sam (never again) every time I called them they always said a minimum of 45 minutes and each time it took 2 hours plus. Generally I cancelled after an hour or so and changed the flat tire myself.

Similar response when I tried to use it for dead batteries on my TV while in Fort Wilderness after 2 weeks. After over an hour and a half I ended up finding a guy that was more than willing to give me a jump. I cancelled Good Sam and if by chance I ever need over the road service I'll rely on my free roadside from my insurance company.
Did you check with your insurance company to see what they offer?

I have Good Sam and used it twice this past year, both for flat tires. The first one took about an hour to get someone to me and the second time was less than 30 minutes. The first one was a flat on my trailer and the second one was about a mile from my house not towing anything, just a front tire got a hole punched in it. With Good Sam you can use in any vehicle you are in, even if you are a passenger, does not need to be towing an RV or any other reason, even going to the grocery store in your car. I'm sure like yourself I'm to old (80) to be crawling around on the ground unless I got a fob around my neck and push the button and say "help, I've fallen and can't get up".
Coach net is also good, check the benefits for both. As I understand AAA coverage is spotty, never had it so can say for sure. You can also join FMCA (Family Motor Coach Assn) For $50 and they have road coverage for and additional cost, I think $79 plus there are other membership benefits.

As stated, check your TT insurance to see what they may already cover !
