Rubber Roof and a Nail

I got up on my roof recently to clean it. After it was cleaned, I walked it and noticed that there was a bump under the membrane. I felt it, and it feels like something sharp is underneath the rubber, like a nail that has backed out.

So far, it hasn't pierced the membrane, but it will sooner or later. I want to resolve this before it becomes a leak.

Any ideas on the best way to fix this? Ideally, i wont have to pierce the membrane to fix it, but who knows?

If under warranty then consult your dealer. If not under warranty then you have two options # 1 cut a small slit and remove the screw apply some glue and reinstall screw then put a piece of eternabond over area. #2 drink a cold beverage of your choice and check often on screw when it pushes through then proceed with # 1. Hopefully this will help as yours is not the first one.

I would start with 2 and then move to 1. I would not wait for it to come through. Get it before it gets you. You may check it every two weeks, but it may come through the day after you check it. Then it has been sitting for two weeks. Not to mention getting up and down on the roof. Just fix it and be done with it.

I have several of those "bumps". Popped up when the trailer was 6 months old. The dealer put a blob of Dicor on each. They submitted a warranty claim to Forest River but that went nowhere. No holes or leaks after 2 years.
