I would also bet that unlike an auto title, it would not for an RV. Unless it was a Motorhome. It's shameful how the Trailer and 5th wheel industry has fought to keep the stank off of themselves. We users need to band together and fight this as hard as any fight. MAKE manufacturers and dealers responsible. Period. They get away with murder now.

Protect yourself and listen to these people! I agree with everybody on not accepting this unit, no matter what. I also agree with getting the VIN # of the damaged unit for reasons stated. Stand your ground and tell the dealer he has X days (you decide) to locate another like camper for you or the deal is off.

Run don't walk

Do not take the unit. It will be better to miss a few camp-outs than be stuck for the future on a TT you probably could not sell later for any reasonable value.

I have another thought:

depending on where this unit sits, it may cost upwards of $500 to $1000 or more to have it 'shipped' back, and then 'returned' to your dealer, if repairs.

I would look at the unit, see if the damage is actually structural and not a safety or operational issue, and ask for a $2,000 discount to accept it as it is. Yes, you may suffer a little on future 'resale' value... but the discount could very well make up for it, especially the longer you keep it.
You might a local welder that can easily 'repair' it for only several hundred, instead of thousands.

I'm with the naysayers on this one. Did the dealer explain how the damage occurred? Whatever bent the frame could not possibly done any good to any other structural components and equipment in the trailer.

not to flame the poster here, but terrible advice. If you have to ask us on the forums what to do, you are probably not able to determine if it Structural, safety or some combination of the above.

As many others have said. Run away from this. Get the VIN and make sure you aren't sold it later. Use this a chance to get a bigger discount, but do not accept a damaged unit

There are obviously some variables at play, price, your location, options on the different units, to name a few. But just seeing you are in Massachusetts and being from MA myself, a quick search on RV Trader shows about half a dozen 2509S within about 2 hours of Worcester (tried to pick a central location east/west as well as north/south). Easy for me to say, its possible you had a unit on order because of specific options/patterns, etc that you couldn't get locally. But just wanted to illuminate that there are other units (whether you want one of them is another situation) that are within a reasonably drivable distance to you, and maybe you can take a look at some of those and negotiate some pricing before making any decisions.

As was advised, definitely keep that VIN for your records. So that you don't ultimately end up with it anyways, if they attempt to pull a switcheroo on you

At least go to a dealer that has one and examine that one to help you determine if the one that came damaged how bad it really is. Then run dont walk away.

X2

The damage you see will more than likely not be all the damage done. Walls, Slides, and/or Roof could now be compromised with unseen issues.

Not taking TT

After speaking to the dealer we will not be accepting this TT. the damage was to the frame hitch and hole in the fiberglass. It had to have been a hard hit by something. We agree, no telling what other unseen damage was done. Now to see how it goes from here with the dealer

Glad to hear you made the right call. We wish you the best of luck getting a new unit quickly.
