RV fridge

We have a 2020 forest river salem th and it is parked permanently at our property. We are going to have electricity hooked up to it. 200 amp service as if a normal home. Stupid question, we are going to leave the batteries on so the fridge can stay on so we can leave food. Is this going to be bad for the fridge? It takes forever to cool down when we get there so we just figured running electric will help out

What kind of fridge is it ? If it’s a gas /12 volt fridge it should be ok if I were you tho I’d check into selling it and getting a residential fridge for a permanent setup running off electric . But it should work like you are planning to do it runs off the battery the battery is charging while plugged into 120/240 RV fridges are finicky at times there are videos that show how to rig up fans to make them more efficient and a fan inside the fridge itself helps distribute the cold air but I’d be afraid to leave it for to long with food that could spoil in it . Heard a trick from one guy who said put a coin on top of a frozen ice tray if you come home and the coin is at the bottom of the ice you know it has thawed and refrozen and not to eat anything in the freezer. Good luck

Most are 12 volt/ propane and 110 volt when hooked to shore power. You will be fine connected to power, fridge will act just like a home fridge. Keep it powered on automatic so if power goes out it will automatically go to propane/ 12 volt

The two I have owned would not go to gas unless the button was on GAS. Automatic means it will search out AC is it is on.

It shouldn't hurt it to run the fridge 24/7. We have ran ours continuously for the last three RV's we've had (15 years total) and have never had an issue with any of them. Granted they've all been gas/electric, and yours may be a 12 volt compressor model (Everchill), but it shouldn't be an issue either way.

If in auto and shore power goes out and fridge button in automatic , it will go to gas side and run. That’s how my fridge runs

X2.
That's how ours works also. I thought most all gas/electric models worked that way.
