We have stayed in both KOA's and more recently American Heritage. American Heritage is our choice for future visits. Nice spaces, friendly staff and convenient to Williamsburg without being too close. It is a few miles west of Williamsburg at a village known as Toano and is between I-64 and US-60.
Toano is also where the Williamsburg Pottery is located. It's a must see.

One very patient wife and one furry child who travels with us. Forty-two years of trailering and camping, and I still have a blast.
The pottery is in Lightfoot not Toano. There are some great sites in Yorktown which is convenient to Wburg accross colonial parkway which is stunning. Colonial parkway also links jamestown as well. If you have specific questions about williamsburg itself, just ask. I used to live there.
