RV Shower Heads

All the 5ers I have owned (3) have had a shower hose attached to the shower head.
But I am wondering why that is. I don't recall ever seeing an RV shower with a regular shower head attached to the wall.
Personally, I would like to put one in my RV and do away with the hose.
What are your experiences? Just curious why it's this way in the industry.

I think the problem with residential shower heads is water pressure. I have a water pressure regulator to limit the pressure so I don't blow a water line. The rubber lines in a tt aren't as strong as your home water lines.

Probably two reasons, one is the RV shower heads have a shutoff at the head so that folks who are dry camping can conserve water during a shower. Reason two, I'm guessing the cost factor.

The water lines in my TT are all PEX, same as my house, so pressure isn't an issue.
As Oakman said, shutoff valve (though I have seen shower heads with cutoffs in the past) and cost. I suspect another factor might be room. In a stick and brick you can move back from the shower head to get your "toes" wet. Campers don't have that kind of room, so you have to be able to move the shower head to where you need it.

You can use any shower head you want,same as your house,Pex plumbing will take all you can give,fitting maybe Not! If you want a "Smooth,even flow" like in your house just install a 5+ gal pressure tank in your unit also,as long as you have water you will have a nice Shower just like your Home! Youroo!!

Surely it isn't cost. Shower heads don't cost that much, and they could simply make it adjustable. I think I will mod mine.

All PEX in our unit and we don't dry camp. Went with a residential style hosed head with cutoff and regulate pressure to 70#. Works awesome.
