RV Upgrades What Do You Spend $

Curious to see how much time and money ppl will put into their brand new or used RV's?. We just bought a used Crusader 2013 295RST Touring Edition and here is what I am doing and have done so far.

50 AMP dedicated circuit at house for Crusader - Installed Already - $275

Maxxair Fan with Remote above Kitchen, too high to use a non remote fan. - $190

2nd AC in Bedroom job vented using Atwood Air Command 13.5 with Remote - $800

New Kitchen Faucet and Soap Dispenser - $100

Progressive EMS 50 AMP - $315

Led Bulbs Inside - $125

RV Locks Combo Entry Lock - Installed already - 215

Replaced Shurflo Water Pump with same 4008 model but new Pump, strainer and Lines/connections - Installed already - $75

New Stainless Steel outdoor latches - $15

New Black Baggage Door Magnetic Catches - $5

5 New Carlisle HD 225/75/15 Tires - $400

Approx a total of $2,300.00 AC took up most of the funds.

These are upgrades we felt will give us ease of use and the most bang for the buck. AC was most of the $ and I did some of them to make my life easier.

I am just curious roughly how much ppl will do and how long you keep your unit. We bought this one with the intent to get 3-5 years out of it trying to be safe and have it function as well as we can.

Previous Owners upgraded Living room TV with 39 Vizio and 32" Vizio in Bedroom.

Lord I don't even want to think about the upgrades, total cost, $6,000.00 or more. Probably more, to much to trade now with the upgrades. My camper came with 7,000lb axles and Goodyear G614 tires, I have since installed disc brakes. I installed a stacked washer/dryer plus a Trav'ler satellite antenna, vent covers. And I'm still installing upgrades.

As little as possible . i do only what is truly needed and stay away from the wish list kind of stuff . unless of course you plan on keeping your unit forever . If not why dump money into a unit that loses value so fast for just a few plus years of use
So for my XLR 29 only the bear necessities and the things that can be changed for very little to no cost like adding shelves etc .

RV Upgrades What Do You Spend $

Man... I will probably regret thinking about this, as they add up fast.

2nd ac unit... although was part of negotiations, so it was cheaper then.
3rd ac unit (I installed-- would have been expensive for custom work)
PI EMS 50 amp
5 new Sendel 16" wheels
5 new Bridgestone Duravis R250 tires
Two Trojan T105 batteries
Progressive Dynamics 9270 converter
LevelMatePRO
Custom built spare tire mount (same design as factory but beefier for heavier tire)
Hard start caps for three ac units

That is what I can think of off the top of my head... and doesn't count the $$$ spent on camping gear/accessories (power cords, generators, hoses, extra refrigerator, etc.) that do not bolt on to the camper. Nor does it include the WDH I bought.

I bought a new truck a few months before I bought my new camper... and did upgrades to it too (Torklift Superhitch Magnum hitch, Torklift Superhitch shank etc.).

I try not to think about the $$$. [emoji51]

Love it "Tinkeritus". New Crusader 315. Michelin XPS Radials, sold the Blow Maxes. Had dealer install Fantastic Fan on their dime. Max Air vent covers. RVLock key fob, keypad door lock. Paper towel, tp holder, towel racks, (trailer did not come with them, new coffee pot, Sony DVD/USB/Internet unit. DVD that came with the trailer was junk. Subwoofer for the sound bar. 1.7 cubic foot freezer where the washer dryer would go. Della Ice Maker. Built in USB phone chargers. Sewer hose holders for inside the storage that I store fishing rods in. Solar panel setup for dry camping. 4 6 volt golf cart batteries to replace single 12 volt, and battery boxes and cabling to go with them. Probably more I forgot about. I've always said about my boat, (A Boat is a hole in the water for you to pour money into), well I would have to say the same about my 5th wheel. Always have something I need to buy for it. We won't go into money spent on my truck to keep it in top running order.

Hard start capacitors, help the air conditioner compressors start up with such a large power draw.

Ah Ok did not think they were needed? I have 50AMP and one 15K unit in rear and one 13.5K unit in front, so I think that is fine just didn't know there was a reason for hard start caps?

Think of rv as a second home, always fixing or doing around both. Biggest up grade, changed out love set to power reclining with heat and massage unit. Aluminum steps for DW. Not to mention dual everything fron second coffee maker etc and then there is portable ice maker, grill and on and on. Cuts down on packing to have it all on board before you start.

This is an extreme disease for which there seems to be no cure. On my 2005 Coachmen, I have replaced/installed, none of which was really necessary, except to me. I did nearly all of the work, except for the CAT engine stuff.

Both TVs with new flat screens
Dish full size traveler dish
King HD amplifed TV antenna
Coach batteries replaced with 4 LS-16s.
820 Watt Solar system
Victron Battery Monitor (Great for tracking your energy usage)
Tru-Center tracking system
Color rear and side cameras
CB Radio
WeBoost Cellular Amp
New Stereo/XM radio/DVD Player
Water Pump with new high flow pump
All lights replaced with LEDs or LED fixtures
Biffy Bidet with Water Heater
Under sink water filter
Fog Lights replaced with LED driving lights
Both 13.5 A/Cs replaced with 15K heat pumps
Oxygenics Shower Head
CAT diesel fuel primer
CAT oil vent extension
Screening to prevent rock damage to radiator (done in Alaska)
Water Tank vent electric shutoffs (prevents water loss while traveling)
New foam mattress for sofa bed

I'm sure there is more. I'll have to run out right now and find a few more things to do. I seem to be having a flareup.

They are useful when using generators. Not necessary when on shore power.

I figured since I'll never see the money from upgrades, I might as well install them sooner than later. (Probably never see the money from the camper either since I bought new. [emoji846])

I have had three units in the past three years.
I am just finishing installing everything I pulled out of my sabre...
I know, this will be the last time I transfer over.
What's in this one, will stay.

I'll just buy new gear, when I move to another new unit.

More than spent on the boat the past two years but that may change. Looks like it is the boat's turn this year.
