RV's and self defense

This topic came up during a recent conversation and I thought that instead of guessing I'd find out for sure. How many RV owners are packing heat? Sometimes? All the time? Depends on where you are? I never have, but I'm not opposed to it.

Personally I don't leave home without it. If the state does not allow it we don't go.

We usually pack heat when we go, sometimes the state that we travel through doesn't allow it , so we stow them in the safe until we are out of that state.

We will be going to Alaska next summer and will be packing heat in the form of a can of bear spray. Not that I am against guns but carrying a gun brings with it a number of problems. Can't bring a handgun into Canada, concealed weapon requirements, and if you shoot a gun in an RV and do not hit your target the bullet will likely go through the walls of your RV and maybe into the next RV. Don't have any of these problems with bear spray.

No. We travel and RV almost exclusively in the US also. I Do not own any firearms.

I do have a beagle that barks loud enough to scare the h__l out of me from time to time though.

I don't know if I would want to use bear spray in an enclosed container. Seems everyone would be crying, sniffing, snottin' and snortin'.

I have a CCP and carry all the time, where allowed. If the state I'm in does not allow, I leave the weapon in the RV.

I'm with him. But, like several others on this site, we keep good full cans of wasp spray in several. very very effective and legal everywhere.

Windjammer, we went to Canada a couple years ago on our trike & they took my wife's pepper spray away, said it is illegal weapon.
