Satellite connection

Just purchased a 2015 Cherokee 39P for our seasonal park in Ontario. Satellite works if sat cable is run directly to receiver. Now trying to connect through outside connection on trailer. ( I have viewed many previous forums, but still a little confused). There is the main connector with the power amp and two cables coming in. The is no separate bypass that I have seen mentioned in prior posts. Connected outside, but nothing. I understand that I need to disconnect the amp for the main TV. Hoping to wire the satellite for the main room, as well as run the sat cable to the outside connect for the TV mount as we have an add-a-room. Any and all help would be appreciated.

We recently got satellite tv connected to our 27RLWS. The signal was fine for a few days but then we suddenly had no signal. Turns out that inside the cabinet, just before the wires connect to the power booster and coax cable connections there was a splitter. It had malfunctioned and was not allowing the signal to get through. We removed the splitter and attached the outside SAT cable directly and have had a good signal since. Hope this helps solve your problem!

You can not split a satellite signal like you do a cable signal. You should have 2 connections outside and 2 inside. One is for satellite which is just a direct connection with no amps or splitters. The other is cable TV which may split to multiple locations. The amp is just turned on if you are using the roof antennae and not cable TV but the antennae and cable are the same jack inside. My dads new camper did not have the jacks labeled so I took a volt meter and checked the resistance between the outside jacks and inside to figure out which one was for the satellite. It will be a dead short.

This is not necessarily true. If you are using DirecTv's SWM system, you can split the cable before the receivers as long as you use SWM compatible splitters.

However, you most likely cannot use your RV's cable hookups due to the possibility of there being (non-SWM) splitters somewhere between the connection on the outside of your RV and the connections on the inside of your RV.

If your RV has a separate satellite connection on the outside, it probably only has one cable run to your main television and not to any of the others. You can split your cable here, at your main television, or you can split it anywhere else you find the satellite cable, but you can only use splitters designed to work with your satellite system.

Ultimately, the most simple thing to do is install the DirecTv Wireless Genie System and put Wireless Mini Genie receivers wherever you want them.

Is your rig wired for Sat? If is is there will be a Sat cable connection on the outside of the trailer or a seperate Sat cable connection inside the trailer near the TV.

My Rig did not come wired for Sat I did it myself. I have Dish. I used RG6 Coax and splitters and connectors to do the wiring and I nad no problems at at with splitters...
