Search and Compare across FR brands?

Well, it was bound to happen. I knew the risk in letting the DW go through a couple of the units at the rally, but I wanted to see them too so I let her look.

While we were there, she really liked the kind of room she saw in the Sabre and Blue Ridge that were there with the kid's bunkhouse with opposing slides. Fast forward to home, and now she's asked:

"What models does Forest River have like that so I can still be a FROG?"

FR's website doesn't make this an easy answer. You have to first pick a line (FR, Coachmen, etc...) then pick a style (Fiver, TT, etc...) then pick a brand (Flagstaff, Sabre, etc...) then it's usually 2 or 3 clicks from there before you can get to the floor plans.

Since there's so many similarities between the different brands anyways, I had an idea about building a database of all the FR models, searchable by key features like bunkhouse, outside kitchen, number of toilets, etc... But I don't know if I want to undertake a project of that size.

So i was hoping that since I had the idea, somebody else might have also had the idea and had already beating me to building one. Anybody know if such a search tool exists out there?

Since you had the idea first, I think the rules are that your have to create the database. Sorry.

Well, I can't answer your database question (although it seems like it would be rather difficult to keep it up-to-date). But has your wife looked at the FR Sandpiper bunkhouse fifth wheel units? My brother-in-law has one & they love it for their kids.

On the FR website there is a dealer locater button, find anyone near you. Go to that dealerships website, they will usually separate the different models into categories such as "bunk house" models.

But just off memory, Blueridge, Sabre, Wildcat, Trilogy all have bunk models.

Unfortunately the problem with that approach is that the local dealer doesn't carry all brands. The dealer who sold us our Flagstaff wouldn't be able to get all of FR's brands. Just a handful of them. For instance, I was interested in the Chaparral 360 IBL, because or it's unique floor plan. Our dealer couldn't provide one and when we asked at the Coachmen plant they confirmed the closest dealer of that brand was at over an hour away from us. (Note: We subsequently decided against that model due to it being smaller than I thought.)

Ask your local dealer if they will work on it, if you buy from another dealer. Then all good in the neighborhood!!!

My dealer is 2 hours away from me, but he had the model I wanted.

Ok, so following up on the "Dealer Approved Brands" approach, He'd only carry:

Wildcat 344QB
Silverback 35QB4

That's even close to the floor plan she liked. Though neither one was exact.

The ones we saw at the rally that she liked were the:

Sabre 36QBOK-7
Blue Ridge 3715BH

Now, off to figure out what other lines/brands have this layout.
