Seatbelt harness repair

My soon to be one year old puppy took a liking to chewing on the seatbelt arm while we were away this morning. Does anyone have any idea how to replace this? I welcome any useful suggestions other than crating dog . She has already chewed through crate!!!Click image for larger version

My approach won't work for most people (DW works at a factory that makes seat belts). Your best bet is to contact a dealer to get a replacement part.

My 2 cents

1. get puppy a chew toy! there are many "indestructible" ones avail at a pet store.

2. get a replacement from vehicle manufacturer or salvage yard from same series/year of vehicle. chassis manuf. of motorhome

I'd skip the dealer and would contact the manufacturer directly.

But, I hate dealers.

I'd agree with salvage yard first and you'll probably need a special star socket to get it off.

Order the part and replace the buckle. Generally they are only bolted into place with 1 bolt (40 or 45 torx. Torx bit is available at most auto parts stores or big box hardware). Run the vin (google is your friend) to identify the chassis manufacturer and order accordingly.
10-15min job at best.

Thanks tom39. I have already ordered the part and waiting delivery at Campers Inn RV. Had to go through them to Forest River. I will check out your suggestion for locating the correct tool to change it out .
