Second A/C or not

We thought we purchased a new Heritage Glen Saturday, but now we are told that it was sold 24 mins before us... A story for another time.

Dealer did tell us that we would be able to order a new one. I am going to get for sure the 50amp/wired for 2nd a/c and the 15K IPO 13.5 A/C options. My question it worth getting the 2nd A/C? Especially here in Florida.

I have read mixed opinions on this question. Some say it is worth it, cools the RV faster, etc., others say it is over kill.

Summer in Florida? IMHO it's a no brainer, get the 2nd AC unit.

I think it is like a TV... Is there ever a such thing a too much?? We kept cool in our trailer in FL while there in October with one 13.5k btu. I do not know how it would go in the summer heat. But I could definitely see how an extra AC if available would be great and worth the cost if only NEEDED just one time.

I am in Georgia and wish I would have opted for the 2nd a/c unit. My unit is wired for one so adding isn't a big deal other than ponying up the money. I have camped in Orlando in late July, early August, and the 2nd unit would have been well worth it.

I would say getting it pre wired for the second at a minimum. At least u have the option later if you decide against it for now. Also, I would opt for the heat pump on the main AC as well. Jerry

No brainer for FL. While it's true our ducting was messed up from the factory, there was no doubt in our mind that the one AC couldn't handle FL heat and humidity. FR added a second unit.

We also live in Florida. What size trailer? We have a Hemisphere, which is the sister to the Heritage Glen. We have the 263RL and have only one air conditioner. Usually we have the air blow in the main living area and let the bedroom cool down more gradually. By bedtime, it is good. We have a fan in the bedroom and often feel cold and turn down the air during the night. We camped last summer in Mississippi when it was 100 degrees out and did fine. Every one is different thought, so maybe you want two, especially if you have a larger unit. One other consideration is if that would put you over 30 amp service. I'm not a guy, so maybe others have more specific details for you.
