I admit that weekend camping trips, the unpacking after a trip, and then repacking for the next trip, seriously interferes with some maintenance duties around home. Specifically, my yard and garden regularly get neglected when compared to my non-camping neighbors. Summer goes by too fast to miss out on any opportunity to take load the family up and hit the road. Other things can wait.

I've long said- if it's nice enough for yard work, it's nice enough for either camping or kayaking!

Now I put down sod and *have* to maintain it. :-(

When I first started RVing, I had panic attacks before driving the RV. That's cuz I had no place to park the RV at my home, I had to rent a space. I would have panic attacks over backing the RV out of the space. And I would have panic attacks over parking it back in the space when I got home.

Ok, twice when backing out my RV from the rented space, I did hit a support pole. Ripped off my slide out awning. those things are $600 to replace!

Now I do have a place to keep my RV at my current home. So, no more renting RV storage slots.

I don't get the panic attacks any more. I just tell myself, "I'm only driving a pickup truck" (I have a Class C, Class A's scare me!) and I don't look at the EXPANSE of what is behind me when I drive.

I didn't have a backup camera until my 3rd RV. Couldn't see out the back window when slides were in. PANIC! I learned to use the camera.

And that is why we leave the hubby's at home while us gals are off somewhere camping and they can mow around the camper's parking spot before we get home.

I admit that after a camping trip, I take everything out of the storage bins and. Reorganize my stuff just so I can spend a few hours in the sun doing some driveway drinking.

I secretly confess that this was my first attempt at making a moon pie (this was bread and apple pie filling) and I had no idea how long to leave it in for!

If all else fails, read the instructions.

We threw it into the fire and it didn't burn. I think it was all burned out!

I confess that I love the sound of rain on the camper and canvas tents ends of Rooby, our 233s hybrid. Packing up in the rain.....NO!

The story is- I was given the moon pie maker for Christmas 2011 from my in-laws. I carried that dang thing around in the camper all last year but never of it out. The packaging (and therefore instructions) were long gone.

I don't cook. I don't even do man cooking (where I stand by the grill, grilling up the food the wife prepared and then tends to after it's removed from the grill) and I don't grill for real. Wife does it all.

So when I asked her how long it should be on for, she shrugged. We figured it was kind of like baking. I NOW know, a minute to a minute and a half is good. We left it on *each side* for a good 4-5 minutes! Fortunately, my father-in-law cooked the next ones and each got better as he did a bit of playing around with times and actually counted seconds out in his head.

Envy X2. That's what I get for marrying a flower child from the 60's!

Describes me to a "T". DH says he loves camping because he gets home cooked meals-unlike at home where I see which take-out place has the best deals!

Which did you through into the fire? The moon pie or the moon pie maker? :-)

Agreed, the only time I have lots of problems is when I try to over think it. If I just start backing in, and react without thinking goes much smoother.

My rig is 35 feet long and I have a crewcab 4X4 truck, so when I back into a site the front of the truck will almost always have to swing into the grass area opposite the site. That’s when those posts can jump out and damage your truck. Here’s a pic taken at Meramec State Park.

Who's bright idea was it to put those post in there....
